The author, who lives in a small town in Connecticut, spent most of his early years working as an accountant and field auditor specializing in finance and taxes. It wasn't until after he retired from the work force that he found the time to prioritize his creative aspirations by becoming a compulsive writer.
After graduating from The Institute For Children's Literature in Westport, Connecticut, he began writing Young Adult and Middle-Grade Juvenile novels. His writing environment consists of a small room, a big desk, a computer, a couple of printers and his inventory of paperback novels.
Anxious to begin writing, he wrote his very first young adult novel in thirty days. After revising, editing and formatting phases were complete, his first manuscript was sent to publishing houses all around the United States, only to return each time accompanied by the standard rejection slip.
Undiscouraged, he wrote five more novels, both young adult and middle-grade juvenile plus a large collection of children’s short stories and poems, all of which can be found on this website.
They will appear not only in paperback form, but will soon will marketed as E-Books and CDs and, if things go well, as audio books.
The publishing industry is a hard nut to crack. Queries are sent out to this publisher and that publisher while the authors wait two or three months sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for a response. Then one day they find that "friendly written but impersonal rejection slip" in their mailbox and their heart slumps! Just another rejection slip to wallpaper their den with.
Undiscouraged, they go back to their writing to finish the one that will surely find a home in the publishing industry. Then, if they ARE lucky enough to have a publisher respond to their query and ask to see the full manuscript, they may still wait an additional three to six months for a response. And then, IF they are fortunate enough to have a publisher select their manuscript and give them a contract, it may be another six toeighteen months before they finally see their book in print.
THEN, it's MARKETING TIME and that's where the fun REALLY begins .
IF the authors are lucky, they can hit that magic button and start on a rollercoaster ride to success, fame and good fortune. If they ARE one of the fortunate authors to hit that button ( like Stephen King, Nora Roberts and others too numerous to mention ), they may become blessed with good fortune, too.

- Having a relative or friend in the publishing business.
- Being a big name movie star or other popular person.
- Paying to have a PRINT-ON-DEMAND digital printing company publish your book.
- OR, simply by being an ex-president, a reformed child molester, an axe murderer, a doctor or scientist who did a new study, or simply having a PhD after your name.

That leaves, for many of us, the one avenue becoming more popular these days if you want to get your book in print. Simply: SELF-PUBLISHING
That’s where the author is today. And maybe that’s where you’ll be tomorrow.
