SYNOPSIS

"The Magic Of The Leprechaun "

By

Richard Paul Haesche

A legend about a magic golden acorn had been handed down in the McCoy family from one generation to another. The legend stated that when Jasper McCoy's tenth generation grandson plants the acorn it would grow into a fantastic golden oak tree which would fill all the material needs of that descendant if they sat beneath the tree and repeated the leprechaun's name three times.

After planting the magic acorn, Joseph McCoy is fascinated at the gigantic golden oak tree that springs to life. He is soon disappointed, however, when he follows the ritual given out by the leprechaun and discovers that the legend is false. Ten years later, Joseph is stricken with a terminal illness and his grieving widow and adolescent sons, Kevin and Lester, are left behind in a terrible state of poverty.

Convinced that the legend is false, Kevin jokes about it to his friend, Jessica, who soon talks Kevin into showing her the golden oak tree.

Repeating the Leprechaun's name three times as the legend said to do, Kevin and Jessica are convinced that the legend is true when a sudden gust of wind brings money floating down from the tree. Amazed, they decide to bury the money in an abandoned area near an old construction trailer. Little do they realize at the time that the trailer is occupied by three escaped convicts.

Further investigation reveals that the convicts and the money that fell from the tree are somehow related. Carrying their investigation further, they find that they have placed themselves in mortal danger that threatens their very lives.

Readers will find that this is one of those "can't put it down" mystery stories that holds them in suspense right through to the very end when Kevin finally discovers the real truth regarding "The Magic Of The Leprechaun."
